The 44th Annual Darryl Starbird’s Exotic Car Show and Monster Truck Races played host to the 13th Annual National Rod and Custom Car Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 8pm on Friday Feb 15th.   This years Inductee was Steve Frisbie of Steve’s Restoration in Portland, Oregon.   The Designer’s Hall of Fame inducted Steve Stanford of Orange, California for his design and artistic ability and Lifetime Achievement award went to the much deserving  “Speedy” Bill Smith of Omaha, Neb who has definitely contributed a lifetime to the Rod and Custom World.  Mark Moriarity of Mounds, Minnesota who has built and displayed many of his award winning vehicles in the museum over the years was made Builder/Owner of the year.

The Hall of Fame Museum is located on the shores of Grand Lake O’ the Cherokee (55251 E Highway 85A- 60 miles northeast of Tulsa) and holds over 50 cars all one of a kind, hand built by the icons in the custom world, such as Barris, Bailon, Winfield, Posies, Roth, Hines, and includes 25 of Starbird's own collection built over the past 50 years and is closed during December thru February.   On Saturday morning February 16th the inductees and a group of preferred individuals made the trip to the museum for a private showing, stopping for lunch on the way back to the car show.

The museum opened its doors for the 14th Season on March 5th.  The feature car this year will be the “Voodoo Spider” built by Elden Titus.  It is a completely hand built all metal car.   This car was built from a model that Elden designed and built when he was a teenager with the long time desire to build the real thing, his dream finally realized.  Along with the “Voodoo Spider” Darryl will be debuting his latest creation the “Duzeybird” inspired by the Duzenberg of the early 30s.
